The Dream...

Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream” is an inspiration to many. Indeed his relatively short lived life is seen to be purposeful, with a goal achieved, enviable in that he lived and died for a defined purpose. Life for many will probably be more meaningful could the reason for existence be identified and pursued.

A duck on land can be imagined not to be as happy as when wading in a river: a picture of no cares, as it drifts carried by the force of the water, seemingly living for what it was designed. Same bird dare not fly as other feathered fellows, who soar to heights unimaginable , where they find their fulfilment, fully filled with the joy of their existence as they live the life for which they were designed.

Human existence may be seen in much the same way. While some people are excited with learning and increasing in knowledge in a particular area of life, others detest the concentration required to imbibe information from comprehensive lengthy texts, yet find fulfilment in hands on creativity , designing fascinating architecture, furniture and amazing variety of fashionable apparels and whatever their minds dare to imagine. Creativity could therefore be manifest in aesthetics or we may enjoy the benefits of intellectualism in various ways. The benefits of various giftings harmonizing to make the world a better place, to the delightful fulfillment of the originators.

Well, rather happily be a duck in water than an eagle on water, or a fish in the sea than a fish on a tree. The question then is, “who am I?”, “what have I been designed to be?” These questions are best answered by soul searching responses to, “what positive activity brings me joy?” “what would I do happily, if all I had was being alive with a lifetime ahead and unlimited resources in every way imaginable?” Some have said "travel round the world". The questions asked are after you have seen it all, you are young and energetic, with decades of years ahead, and all the tme available everyday- what would you be excited to do with your life time?

What’s my 10?

Life could be rated on a scale of 0-10. Zero being the worst life could be and 10 being blissful, could not be better in any way whatsoever. Some say 10 is unrealistic, what then is 9 0r maybe 8?

Now....

The starting point to any destination is identifying where one is now, as a navigator would request. Where on the 0-10 scale is one currently located? Identifying the starting point helps to know what routes there are to destination. The fastest route is not always the best, neither is the shortest route. The fastest route may be healthier for someone very energetic, and the delays on the slower route may be the exercise for developing patience for someone who is always in a hurry. In order to stay on course in spite of the challenges the journey to a specified destination, it is best to identify the healthiest route for each person. An active person aiming at a healthier lifestyle may require diet modification to get to 9 on a journey to a healthier body, whilst someone else may require more exercise.

ACT – Action Changes Things. Aiming at nothing gets nothing!

The starting point is identified, the goal has been defined, the route is known, what happens next? The journey of a thousand miles is said to start with the first step. Whatever the reservations, take the first step. Refuse to be anxious about the duration of the journey. Every step gets you closer to destination. Pre-occupation with what needs to be done rather than taking action will not get one closer, once the goal is defined and the route planned. The route may be changed at some point in the journey should obstacles come up. From current position what needs now be done is that first step.

Let’s get started!

Bon voyage!!!

The Altar

The altar brings to mind, a place of sacrifice, something of significant value is given up.

Abraham gave up his son on an altar. Jacob sacrificed to God at an altar. Elijah sacrificed at altars, so dod Samuel and other priests and prophets.

Altars can be physical, mental or spiritual, like man's three dimensions. The most significant is the spiritual, for the unseen is not only the most powerful realm, the seen is also born from the unseen.

Powerful interactions take place at altars for better or for worse, determined by the parties involved. In scripture God's love is manifested through the demonstration of his power, in many sacrifices.

The willingness of man to yield to God allows the Spirit of God room in the area of life where the sacrifice is made. The Spirit of God gives life. God's life brings supernatural transformation! Romans 9:9-10

Prayer is the spiritual altar where man yields the will to God, or any  issue that needs supernatural intervention. Hence the charge to pray and not to faint, to pray without ceasing. "O what needs we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer."

FULLY FILLED

The word fulfillment is apparently self explanatory.

Fulfillment is something everyone seeks in one way or the other. The perception of fulfillment determines how one invests time and energy.

LIFE
"This is the life", "there's no life in it", "the life and soul of the party", are phrases that indicate the value of "life" to people. There is a need for life in us and around us. People seek life in many ways- activities, relationships, career etc Unfortunately it is not uncommon that the end in which people hope to find life often lacks the satisfaction that is sought.

WHERE
Happiness is said not to be a destination but a journey. Many however invest their whole earthly existence waiting for a destination to have a life, one rather than enjoying life as long as they are on earth. One can enjoy the ride to a desired destination and have fun at the destination too!

THE SEARCH
When time on earth is over what would one be glad to say the time was invested in? Is the purpose of my existence clear? Why am I here on earth? Where do I fit in the jigsaw of the human race?
It's interesting looking for something one is certain should be close by, and after searching hi and lo it's found in a conspicuous place. The answer to man's search for fulfilment is found in unison with one's creator. Like the utterance of marriage vows, or the swearing in to a position of authority, all it requires is acknowledging the need for life and accepting the life that has been so freely given, in a heartfelt prayer to God..

John 14:6  Jesus said " I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father but by me"
John 1:12    For as many as received him gave  them power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
Acts    For there is no other name given amongst men whereby we might be saved.

Man can never be satisfied
Not with wealth or wine or grain
Applause of men quickly fades
Only Christ can fully fill!!

John 8:32 ...and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.

Seed, Time, Harvest

As long as earth remaineth, seed , time and harvest shall not cease.....
The ław of seed, time and harvest, is evident in all aspects of human life. Seed sown on soil with time and the night conditions will bring forth fruit.
My current state of physical, emotional and mental health is a result of seeds sown in my life and situations I have been exposed to.
The quality and quality of food I have put in my body in past years reflects in my current physical health status. The information I have sown in my mind is manifest in my present state of mental and emotional health.
Seeds may have been sown deliberate or inadvertently. A parent may consciously sow seeds of love, or the love seeds are sown by instinctively caring for the child.  Seeds of love will yield fruit of love and the aroma of life, like the scent of beautiful flowers. Seeds of hatred will yield fruit of hatred and the stench of bitterness and anger.
The type of fruit desired determines what type of seed would be sown. A desire for top grades in an exmination implies hard work muster be sown. The desired quality of a harvest helps decide how much seed is sown. Farmers long for a bountiful harvest anna do not mount seed but sown bountifully, scattering the seeds as they plough, aware not every seed will yield fruit.
He that sows sparingly will reap sparingly. He that sows bountifully will reap bountifully.
ACT - Action Changes Things
What fruits world I like to się in my life?
What kind of harvest of these fruits world I like?
What seeds do i reed to sow?

The Red Sea

It seemed like an insurmountable issue, with no possibility of a solution in sight. The Israelites wedged physically and mentally between the red sea and Pharaoh's powerful horses and chariots came to mind. The best thing it seemed was to give in and be crushed to death by these chariots....it would finally be over, no more fears, no more painful recollection of being enslaved.....what has Moses got to say.....all these for trusting him...

Without the red sea in the way  the Israelites would not have experienced the demonstration of God's power, as the ALMIGHTY ONE cleared a path through impossibility to a door of better things. God never promised a life without battles, He promised victory as we walk in faith and peace the world cannot give.

The Israelites could have stayed in Egypt but took the chance of following Moses till they were caught between Pharaoh and the red sea. Going back to Pharaoh on their knees was an option, but they looked to Moses who cried to God.

Christ Jesus is our Moses, the high Priest of our professions (our declaration) As we declare we have no other help but Christ and look to Him, He intercedes on our behalf, our advocate. God hears Him who has been in our place, the perfect advocate, and opens doors to a new life, as He parts whatever our red sea may be. The sea did not disappear, the Istaelites walked through the miraculous path in it!

Red seas vary- It could be a "terminal" illness, financial distress tat's seeingly insurmountable, relationship difficulties, chronic illness or a difficult child. There's nothing that can defy God's power if we yield ourselves to Him. He'll walk us through the red sea to a land that flows with milk and honey whilst empowering us to face the giants that may threaten us in the place prepared for us.
